The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport in the Western Cape, has established a 10 year program to provide every disadvantaged school in the Western Cape Province with a sustainable recreational programme.
The Aim of these centres is to:
- Action the Research for the Pilot Project
- Promotion of Recreation
- Positive activities for school-going children
- Potential Career paths
- Sentinel Primary School, Hout Bay
- Hout Bay High School, Hout Bay
- Hillwood Primary School
- Lavender Hill High School
- Fairmount High School, Grassy Park
- Sport ( various sports activities );
- Dance ( Various: Hip Hop, etc.); and
- Music ( Vocals and Poerty/Lyric writing).
Further roll-out of these centres starts in April/May 2011, where 1 High and 1 Primary School per District will be created.
